When running the Security Advisor in cPanel at Home \/ Security Center \/ Security Advisor, I received this error:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apache vhosts are not segmented or chroot()ed. Enable \u201cmod_ruid2\u201d in the \u201cEasyApache 4\u201d area, enable \u201cJail Apache\u201d in the \u201cTweak Settings\u201d area, and change users to jailshell in the \u201cManage Shell Access\u201d area. Consider a more robust solution by using \u201cCageFS on CloudLinux\u201d. Note that this may break the ability to access mailman via Apache.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Let’s dig into the error and the solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To correct this, check EasyApache 4 for mod_ruid2. In EasyApache 4, you can search for the module:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my case it was enabled, but if not, you can enable it with the slider and then build it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the other message – “enable \u201cJail Apache\u201d in the \u201cTweak Settings\u201d area, and change users to jailshell in the \u201cManage Shell Access\u201d area.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to tweak setting’s in WHM – Home \/ Server Configuration \/ Tweak Settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Search for jail and enable the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clik “Save” at the bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now go to <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Home \/ Account Functions \/ Manage Shell Access and enable “Jailed Shell.” Click “Apply to All.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
