This article guides you how to assign Home Folder to Active Directory users.<\/p>\n

Install the File Server Resource Manager<\/h3>\n

  1. Open Server Manager<\/li>\n
  2. Go to \u201cAdd roles and features”<\/li>\n
  3. In \u201cServer Roles\u201d expand \u201cFile and Storage Services\u201c, again expand \u201cFile and iSCI Services\u201c, then tick \u201cFile Server Resource Manager\u201d and click \u201cnext\u201d to install.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Configure a Shared Folder<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Create a shared folder ex:- D:\\HOME<\/li>\n
    2. Open \u201cHOME<\/strong>\u201d folder properties by right clicking on it and go to properties > sharing.<\/li>\n
    3. Click on \u201cShare\u201d button and activate folder sharing. Add users.\u00a0 Find shared folder path ex:- \u201c\\\\YOUR-SERVER\\home\\\u201d<\/li>\n
    4. select \u201csecurity\u201d tab and then open \u201cAdvance Security\u201d. Please make sure inheritance is disabled like below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Configure Disk Quota<\/h3>\n

      1. Open \u201cFile Server Resource Manager\u201d<\/li>\n
      2. Expand \u201cQuota Management\u201d , you can configure \u201cQuota Templates\u201d if you wish or you can use existing template like here I did.<\/li>\n
      3. Click on \u201cQuotas\u201d \u2013> \u201cCreate Quotas\u201d from right hand side.<\/li>\n
      4. On then \u201cCreate Quota\u201d window, browse and set Quota Path, select \u201cAuto apply template and create quotas on existing and new sub folders\u201d radio button, and make sure to select previously configured template from the drop down menu (200 MB Limit Reports to User \u2013 existing template).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Attach Network folder to Active directory user<\/h3>\n

        Open \u201cActive Directory Users and Computers\u201d
        \nRight click on user and open \u201cproperties\u201d , then browse \u201cprofile\u201d and set following Network path there.<\/p>\n
